Off-Site Backup & Disaster Recovery Planning
In today's volatile environment both natural and man made disasters are almost commonplace. Such events can and do wreak havoc on the functionality of even the most well prepared organizations. Whether the cause is terrorism, fire, deliberate attack or organizational sabotage, a viable offsite Disaster Recovery program can be the difference between continued operations or catastrophic business interruption. In order to be effective, an organization's Disaster Recovery plan must include a viable plan for data, application, and hardware recovery. Advanced Litigation Services, Inc. (ALS) has three Off-Site Backup & Disaster Recovery options available to meet its client's needs.
Client initiated manual backups
• ALS will provide software to be installed on a workstation or server which will upload user-specified data to a secure, off-site location. This can be executed on a user-defined schedule or on demand. For security purposes, the backed up data is accessible from the original source workstation or server only.
Advanced Litigation Services' Managed offsite backup, rotation and storage
• Some customers prefer a more robust solution, but do not require a fully replicated virtual environment. In this case, ALS can provide a solution which allows the client to transmit data to ALS which is then published and made available to any client PC. The data can be accessed from any PC regardless of location. The only requirement is a high speed internet connection and Internet Explorer 6 or higher. Data is stored and backed up on ALS servers in our secure hosting facility.
ALS managed Virtual Environments
• Fully replicated network environments employ the latest technology to perform real-time replication of live data for as many environments (servers) as is required. Data is replicated and CRC checked at the byte level. This means more efficient use of bandwidth and real time data protection. Data replication can also be scheduled to run at a set time. The network appears as a remotely connected office and all servers are manageable by the customer's network administrator and function as an extension of the client's network. Network failover can be accomplished in a matter of minutes or hours depending on the number of servers, and the complexity of the client's environment. Data can be accessed via terminal services or other remote access methods.
